- Kerstant Doedenszn van Wassenaer Alias Van Raephorst.
Kerstant is stamvader van de geslachten van Wassenaer, van Duivenvoorde, van Polanen, van Raephorst en van de burggraven van Leiden. Wellicht getrouwd met de erfdochter van Bertulf van Pendrecht. [Over de afkomst van van geslacht van Wassenaer, eender oudste Nederlandse geslachten, is veel gefantaseerd, zo lieten 16e eeuwse genealogen de van Wassenaers van de (verzonnen) Bataafse koning Batho uit de Romeinse tijd afstammen. Ook werd de familie in verband gebracht met de Romeinse versterkingBrittenburg bij Katwijk. Zulke mythen dienden er in de regel toe, door een afstamming uit een grijs verleden de prestige van een familie te vergroten, zie NL2004k188].[5].

Drossaart (Dapifer)(Drost) van Holland; vermeld 1167-1189. De drost moeteen van de belangrijkste functionarissen geweest zijn aan het hof van degraaf van Holland gedurende de twaalfde en de eerste helft van de dertiende eeuw. De latijnse titel luidt dapifer, hetgeen spijsdrager betekent.De drost stond aan het hoofd van de hofhouding en was daarbij betrokken bij het beheer van het domein. In de naburige graafschappen zien we dat hij tevens zorg draagt voor de bewaking van de vorstelijke residentie, soms treedt hij op als rechter en vervangt zelfs de graaf in de curia bijde rechtspraak.
Drost
Baljuw of gerechtelijk ambtenaar op het platteland. Oorspronkelijk de hoogste gerechtsambtenaar die de vorst vervangt. Verricht daarnaast allerlei administratieve werkzaamheden. De titel wordt later een erfelijke eretitel. Naam en functie gaan danover op een ambtenaar, aangewezen door devorst. Deze drost moet toezicht houden op gewestelijke en locale gerechtsdienaars. Daarnaast blijft hij de vorst vertegenwoordigen in de hogere jurisdictie.
Ook: drossaart.
Kerstant van Wassenaer, een soort goeverneur van Holland - is alzo genoemd in de registers van 1167 tot 1189.
Hij staat ook genoemd in de registers : "Dapifer (latijn), hetgeen wil zeggen : hij die de delicate spijzen jomt aandragen.
Kerstant stond aan de leiding van de Veiligheid aan het Hof en was intens betrokken bij veiligheid van de Prinselijke Residentie.
Hij heeft af en toe gefunctionneerd als Rechter (hierbij verving hij dus de Graaf van Hoilland gedurende de "curia" van het Recht. Hij was een zeer belangrijke functionaris.
Zijn zoon : Philips 1 van Wassenaar en Dirk van Wassenaar.
De Fam. van Wassenaar "hernoemde" zich vanaf begin 1200 "Duivenvoorde". Dit heeft dan geduurd tot aan begin 1600, toen ze zich weer van Wassenaar gingen noemen.

- Dirck Verloop was schepen van Piershil van 1713-1719 en was vermoedelijk metselaar
- Doopgetuigen in Herwijnen waren �de vader�, alsmede Henrick Jeuriaense Verloop (oom; broer van de vader) en Maijke Dirx (tante; zuster van de moeder). Na zijn doop verdwijnt zijn naam uit de Betuwe.
- Later duikt hij op als lidmaat te Piershil in 1700 (archief N.H. kerk), was meester metselaar te Piershil (ontvangsten wegens leverantie en arbeid vanaf 1700) en schepen van Piershill (1713-1719).
- De fisches collectie in het Streekmuseum van Heinenoord vermeld: Volledige tekst op het kaartje : Verlo, Dirk Dirks � lidmaat ca. 1700 � Arch. N.H. Kerk Piershil � 1700. Er staat dus Verlo� en niet Verloop. Er is ook nog een ander fiche in hetzelfde handschrift, waarop staat geschreven: Verloop, Dirk � echtg. Anna Teunis � lidmaten in het dorp 1700 � Arch. N.H. Kerk Piershil 1700. De datering is dus zo goed als identiek en komend uit dezelfde bron. In ieder geval is geconcludeerd dat hiermet aan zekerheid grenzende twijfel sprake moet zijn van een verschrijving, op welke wijze dan ook (Verlo i.p.v. Verloop).
- Bovenstaande gegevens uit het Streekmuseum van Heinenoord gevonden door Erika Verloop.
- Hij is de stamvader van de drie Verloop-takken in de Hoeksche Waard (Puttershoek, Nieuw-Beijerland en Goudswaard).
- LDS vermeld huwelijk van Dirk Dirkse Verloop en Anna Teunisse ca. 1696. Zij worden beiden ingeschreven als lidmaat te Piershil in 1700. (Het doopboek van Piershil begint pas in 1707).
