vermeld sedert 1471 tot en met 1493 als pachter van grafelijke tienden te Maasland en Schipluiden, overl. voor 21 mei 1506, verm. tussen 27 juli 1496 en 20 dec. 1505.
Hij getuigde op 21 okt. 1483 voor Delfland; op 5 febr. 1485 werd een zaak behandeld betreffende Jan van Crofte; op 15 okt. 1490 kreeg hij een leen van 5 hond land bij de Broekweg in Naaldwijk overgedragen van Pieter Willemsz. Hij bezat een huis bijhet Marktveld te Naaldwijk, waar hij op 27 juli 1496 als belender vermeld wordt.
Hij huwde mogelijk met Barbara Coppairtsdochter, dochter van Coppairt Henrycxz. uit de Kethel. Op 19 maart 1492 verklaarden Coppairt Heynrycsz., zijn schoonzoons en zijn dochter Barbara dat Jan van der Croft Dircxz. een stuk land zou krijgen als betaling voor het bij huwelijkse voorwaarden toegezegde bedrag. In 1505 kreeg het Sint Ursulaconvent te Schiedam van Coppert Heynricksz. een stuk land, gedeeltelijk gemeem met hemzelf en met de kleinkinderen van Jan Vercroft. Op 3 maart 1508 worden Jan van Crocht en kinderen vermeld als erfgenamen van Coppert Heynriksz.
Het is niet bewezen dat de Naaldwijkse Jan Dircxz. van der Croft en de echtgenoot van Barbara dezelfde persoon zijn. Wanneer het zo is, dan moet of het huwelijk omstreeks 1450 plaatsgevonden hebben, of moet er sprake zijn van een tweede huwelijk.
