The year of birth of Andreas Meerts was estimated on basis of the birth of his oldest child. It has been assumed that Andreas Meerts en Michaelis Meerts are brothers. This assumption is mainly based the approximate age of their children and the fact no other Meerts's are mentioned around that time in Dworp. Andreas Meerts is a decendent of the Meerte Family. The major proof is found by the quote in "Eigen Schoon en de Brabander": dat Adriaan Meerts, die zich in Dworp vestigde en daar o.a. 1e schepen van de vierschaar werd, een zoon is van Adriaan (Adrianus) Meerte, luitenant-stadhouder van het Graafschap Asse en van Anna van Overstraeten. (thanks to Olivier Meert). Andreas Meerts and Adriaan Meerts are considered to be the same person. The corresponding family tree is found here.
The year of death of Andreas is based on the following:
1. In 1659 Andreas acts as schepen of Dworp in a deed in which Michiel Meerts inherited a number of allowances (1659 Cohier van Goedenissen van Dworp onder de ban van de heerlijkheid van Dworp. Griffier F. de Fraye)
